Hi! I’m Kayla.
I am a writer, a spiritual coach, a Reiki Master Teacher and founder of The Harmonic Spirit, a virtual community center promoting spiritual liberation and interfaith pluralism. I started writing and performing poetry as a high school student in Kalamazoo, MI. From there, I studied journalism at Ohio University and have since created countless writings for print and digital publications. I am the author of two books, Prayers In Reverse and S.U.R.E.A.L. Faith, and I continue to find new ways to expand as a writer and a healer. While I reside in Michigan, the Earth is my home. My passion is finding creative ways to tell Her stories.

My first published collection of poems, Prayers In Reverse is a time capsule filled with the emotional insights, pleas and promises of a young woman who turned away from the “God of the Bible” to discover the essence of God in all things, beyond the boundaries of religion. Each poem can be read forwards and in reverse, highlighting the power of context to alter the meaning of one line, one word, and one moment in time.
